Are you trying to get a loan? look for a loan broker not a banker. A broker will have several loan agencies to deal with so rather than dealing with just one bank your looking at hundreds and the likelihood that your loan will be approved is magnified by that much. Places like lendingtree.com would be a good place to start but the best ones would be those in your own hometown so you can deal with the broker directly face to face. Are you in debt and trying to deal with a collection agency? talking to them is generally speaking considered a real mistake. If they ever get you talking they can talk you right into your financial grave. You should try talking to the company you borrowed from and if they are unwilling to work with you then there are still options rather than dealing with a slimeball collection agency who are well trained to lie to you to get you to fork up the dough. They will use official sounding terms and loosely refer to pending legal action against you in order to scare you into paying. Personally I have been harassed by several collection agencies trying to extort money from me and my wife over a matter which is still in dispute. I will discuss this matter in great detail as soon as this matter is completely dead. The statute of limitations has run out on this debt but there is a minuet possibility they could try to sue us even though the sol has run out. We would of course win the case because of this but right now we are still laying low. Actually I am itching to do a complete tell all on this but the thing officially end in 2009 so it will have to wait until then. In the meantime go to http://www.creditboards.com/forums/ and you will get all the answers you will need. Until Next Year, Update: It looks like this may finally be over for us, the last collector to get our debt has given up it seems. I never had to send a cease and desist order and they have stopped calling on their own. I suspect they sent it to their lawyer for review before taking legal action and he told them the statute of limitations had run out or they saw it themselves. Either way we are breathing much easier now. Update # 2: well it’s June now and we have reached the 7 month countdown. We are waiting till Feb 2009 to call this done. We have a CA calling again but we have taken steps to make sure they get no reply. |
